Day 14: What you wore today #2

I know these posts are sporadic but oh well. Today I am in blue yoga pants and a blue big baggy t-shirt. Wearing anything snug is just too painful on my incision area yet.
I still seem to be losing weight which is great. I am down to 253.5 which is about 23 lbs. lost so far and that is with surgery.
So that is Day 14, a few weeks later:)

Day 13: This Week

Sunday was Easter and we spent the day home sick. I was still recovering from the infection and Hunter and McKadie were sick so Brian got stuck taking care of the rest of us. On Monday I spent the day making dentist appointments, paying bills and crocheting. I have been making some really cute hats and they have been selling faster than I can make them. I spent 8 hours crocheting on Monday to the point where my right hand is now giving me a fit, but alas I am still pushing forward. Tuesday I took McKadie to the Dentist and then went and had lunch with Brian and then went home and crashed with Mickey. Wednesday morning we were at the dentist office early with McKadie and she had an oral surgery procedure done. She had the Frenulum(sp?) clipped. She is doing better but her lip is still swollen and she has black circles under her eyes, I think from when they put the tube down her nose for the surgery. We left the dentist office and headed to my parents so that grandpa could help me calm her down. Brian and I tried all we could but she just wouldn't stop crying. Grandpa got her all happy and smiling.
From my parents we went to UVU. We spent most of the day there going from one counselor to the next trying to get Brian and I registered for school. We are both registered now and all we are waiting for is to find out which Math and English class he can get into. He is going to enter the RN program and I have changed my major. My love has always been in the world of medicine, but the last ten years have given me some physical limitations that will keep me from performing to my best ability. So after taking a test last year called the Meyers Brigg test, I am going to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I want to work in the hospital and help families that are dealing with grief, change, and other things. We start in August and are so excited because we will have a class together.
So once we finished at UVU we checked the kids out from school and took them to the dentist where we spent the rest of the day.
Thursday, we started our day back at the dentist office where Sadie had two teeth pulled and some sealant done. Hunter had some sealants done as well and four fillings. We then took Sadie to school, Hunter wasn't feeling well after the laughing gas. Then kidnapped my dad. The rest of yesterday was spent here at home. I took a cat nap, Brian studied for his accuplacer tests and then I did housework, homework and some more crocheting with the kids.
Today has been a lazy day, McKadie and I have been chilling out watching the Royal Wedding. Brian is at work, he is working at DI while he gets his CNA. He is enjoying what he is doing and it has been very humbling for both of us. Tomorrow I am not sure what we will do. Brian has to work. We have major gardening and weeding to do but Utah's weather doesn't always cooperate.

Surgery Update

I am doing better. My incisions have been infected and my skin has been breaking out so I am trying to heal. I went to the dr's office last week because I was feeling terrible. I had a double ear infection, sinus infection and upper respiratory infection. So he gave me antibiotics and some anti-nausea because I couldn't eat and keep much down.
I am up and moving around, trying not to push it too hard so I am grateful for medicine and technology that allows us to be better and healthy.

I am trying to update

I really haven't let the blogging go on purpose. Last week on Tuesday evening I started getting a sharp pain in my lower right side. I tried to sleep it off but it didn't help and I was in the ER on Wednesday for most of the day. All of the tests came back negative and they didn't know what was causing the pain. But it got worse and worse and I was back in the ER on Thursday. Again, more tests run, no answers found. The doctors were very sweet and helpful and just as frustrated that they couldn't help me. So when I woke up Friday morning and it was still extremely painful, we made an appointment for the doctors office. My regular doctor was out of town so I had to see a different doctor in the office but he was super nice and empathetic. He was concerned that it was Appendicitis and sent me to the surgeon's office right away. I can't even go into the mess that was because it makes me so mad. In the end I was in surgery on Friday evening having my Appendix removed. I was supposed to go home on Friday night but the pain was so out of control they ended up keeping me until Saturday evening. I am grateful to be home and with the kids now. The gas bloating was a pain for the first 2 days, but then it got much better. Yesterday was full of nausea and today I am just remembering what a pain it is to recover from a gut surgery. Not complaining, so instead of sounding like I am whining I will tell you what I am excited about since the surgery. First of all the pain is gone in my side. 2nd of all I have been able to do a lot more crafting. I have made a bunch of crocheted dishrags, a couple of hats and am learning more patterns. I am going to start selling a lot of the things that I am making. So, in the meantime, I am trying to get up to date on my Blog Challenge and will have to start Day 12 tomorrow.
In the mean time I think I have brought blogging addiction to my family.
We had some serious issues we were dealing with for Sadie yesterday and she was having a really hard time coping. I encouraged her to use her blog as an outlet. To write about her frustrations and worries, and things that make her happy.
So then I get this email from Brian last night inviting me to read his blog. LOL, I never thought he would have a blog of his own. It is so exciting for me to get to see what he is writing.
We have been married for 10 years and I feel like we know each other pretty darn well, but the blog just opens up this new window for me to learn more about my sweetheart.
So here is to happy blogging in the Gillman residence.
Also, due to the surgery, I won't be weighing myself for a while. The tube they put in my throat has left me unable to eat too many things unless they are super soft, and due to the nausea and upset tummy that has even lowered my choices. In the end, I haven't been eating very RAW since the surgery and I am terrified to look at the scale right now.

April 2nd Day 11: Your Siblings

I have 5 siblings, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. I am the oldest. Normally I start with Katrina since she is 2nd in line but I am going to start from the youngest up.
Colton is about to turn 21 in May. He has the biggest heart I have ever seen. He protects his heart and his loved ones to the death. He is very very talented in the art of mechanics and is always willing to help anyone out when they are having car problems. He was married last year to Lacey and we are grateful to have her in the family. I have Colton Scooby since he was little. We were able to build a special bond when he was quite young due to family matters. I really enjoyed the trips that he would make out to Arizona to visit us when we lived there. He is becoming a wonderful young man and I am really proud of him for all that he has accomplished and continues to accomplish.
Natasha just turned 23, I believe, please forgive me if I am wrong Natasha. She has been married for Nathan for a few years, I am not quite sure how long. She loves him more than life. Her second love was her puppy who was killed this last Halloween when he was hit by a car. Captain Jack Sparrow was her baby. Watching her put him in the ground was the second hardest thing I had to ever watch Natasha do. The second hardest thing was watching her go through withdrawals when she was trying come off of a Heroine addiction. This I think has been her hardest trial in her life. She has been clean for over 3 years now and I am so proud of her. She shares her story freely so that others may learn of her mistakes and the trials she has had to go through. She is one of my heroes and I love her dearly. We also were able to build a special relationship when she was young and I loved her visits as well. She is a beautiful young lady who deserves everything her heart desires and I hope she knows that and how much I love her and I how I wish her every dream could come true.
My oldest brother is Lance and I believe he is 25 this year. The older I get the more I can't remember with details. I wonder if it is truly the age or if it is actually that there are more family members to try and keep track of and it is overwhelming. So Lance was the last Wininger child to be born overseas. He was born in Holland, the Netherlands while dad was serving in the Air Force. He is married to Swayze and they have 4 kids. I am horribly with spelling their names so forgive me but Aveny is in Kindergarten and is a very smart spit fiery little girl. She likes to tease me when I want hugs and makes a game out of it. Kanvas is a brute. He is one of the toughest little 3 year old I know. The funny thing is that when he was born I was just released from the hospital with McKadie. They are 2 days apart and were born in the same hospital. Hudsyn is 2 and is the tiniest little girl with the biggest personality. She gives the best cuddles when she wants to and forget about it if she doesn't. The newest addition to the Wininger family is Diesel. He was born in December so that would make him about almost 4 months old now. He looks a lot like his daddy but then I see parts of his siblings in him. Lance has worked for Warburton's for as long as I can remember. He is a very hard worker and takes pride in his work. My brother has worked very hard for everything that he has and I am proud of him.
Mindy is the 3rd oldest in the line of sibs. She is currently in Germany with her husband and their 4 kids. Seth, Mindy's husband, is an Airmen with the United States Air Force. They have been in Germany since last summer, it's crazy how fast time goes by. Mindy is one of the strongest personalities that I have ever known on the face of this earth. She is very passionate about what she wants and thinks. Sometimes it is overwhelming and sometimes it is empowering. She is very smart and bright. She is one of the best mom's to her kids and I wish I could be more like her in some aspects. Mindy is also very devoted and loyal to people she loves and cares about as well as things she believes in. Kenya is her oldest and she is 10 years old. She has one of the most loving hearts and reminds me of her aunt Trina a lot of the time. Cameo is 9 and is a flirt. She is super girly and loves to wear skirts and dresses. Navi, whose name is from our dad's name, Ivan spelled backwards, is 5 years old. I hope I am right about how old she is. She is a bottle rocket in a firecrackers body. I miss her and her sisters very much and can't believe how much they have grown up and how much they are learning and doing in Germany. Maverick is the loan ranger with his 3 sisters. He was born premature and has had to deal with some health problems that I don't envy him or my sister of having to deal with. He is a trooper though and very smart. He just turned 4 in January.
Katrina is about 18 months younger than I am. She has the biggest heart on this planet and loves with every ounce in her soul. She is the best mommy and puts so much time and effort into making memories with her kids that I wish I was as creative as her. She is great with scrap booking and making jewelry. She has 4 great kids that are all loveable and energetic. Mallory is 7 and is the tallest girl in her class. Thanks to her daddy who stands around 6 ft. 3 or something. She has gorgeous blond hair and is great at soccer. Hallie is 6 and is Mallory's Irish Twin. She will come up with the craziest and most random things. She makes us laugh all the time. Lincoln is 4 years old now, we have a trio of kids from the same year (Maverick turned 4 in January, Lincoln in March, and McKadie will be 4 in September). It was the only time we were all pregnant together and ever will be, minus Natasha, who wasn't married yet. Jaxson is Katrina's baby and he is almost 2. He is a sneaky little devil and is always getting into things. When he was just little he would only want Aunt Shina and it was the greatest thing. Sometimes he wouldn't even want his mommy only me:) But now he only ever wants his mommy or Aunt Tasha. Katrina has always been the most endearing and loving person I have ever known. It has caused her a lot of heartache and pain, but when you love with everything that you are, you hurt with everything that you are too.
My siblings are great people and I am proud to be their sister. We have had and will have our moments of trial and pain and that comes with life. We are very passionate and all have super strong personalities which means we will always have things we disagree on, but that is okay because it makes us who we are.

April 1st Day 10: What you wore today

On Friday, April 1st, I put on my pj's for a day to hang out with my youngest daughter, McKadie. Daddy and Grandpa went fishing so mommy and Mick had the day to themselves. We watched movies, did dishes, washed some laundry, and made some projects like painting, bead work and some more. We stayed in our pajamas all day long.

Raw Diet update

I have now lost 19.5 lbs., down to 257.5. I am noticing a difference in the tummy fat and somewhat around other areas. I can feel my breastbone easier as well as my face isn't as puffy or bloated. There is major excitement knowing that I am losing weight and I don't feel deprived. I have cheated a few times, felt super sick afterwards, learned my lesson, but none the less I am losing weight and feeling great about it!!!

Day 9: Your Beliefs

My beliefs...
Religously, I am a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. I believe in the Godhead: Heavenly Father, my Savior Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost. I also believe that families are forever. I believe that the Savior was resurrected and will return again. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is the Living Prophet on the earth today. I believe that Joseph Smith restored the true gospel to this earth and was a Prophet himself. I believe that the keys of the Priesthood have been returned to the earth.
I believe that honesty is the best thing in all situations.
I believe that love can conquer all.
I have a lot of beliefs but for now I think those are the most important.

For this post I wanted to have some sort of enlightening and philisophical ah-a deep "moment". But I am afraid that it has come and gone.
The one thing that comes to mind is that life is too short. Those special times in life come and go and the thing to understand and remember, is to make every moment memorable because you never know when life will end, either for yourself or someone you love.
